Oklahoma City Community College
The pharmacy technician program at Oklahoma City Community College will be delivered online via Zoom. The curriculum comprises of 48 classroom hours to prepare students for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. Course topics include Oklahoma state regulations, insurance restrictions, mathematics, applicable law, nomenclature, basic IV admixture, computerized pharmacy systems, and skills needed to work in retail pharmacies and hospitals. Instructors will employ classroom exercises and competency reviews throughout the program. Graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion after completing the coursework with a grade of 80% or better. Graduates interested in obtaining certification are encouraged to register for the PTCE exam after completion. The class is taught by a certified Pharmacy Technician. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for 8 weeks.

The Pharmacy Technician program at Meridian Technology Center includes online delivery of some modules. The program is accredited by the Association for Health System Pharmacists iand prepares students for PTCB certification. Hands-on activities designed to equip students with the skills to transition to a pharmacy will be conducted in an on-campus simulated pharmacy. There students will learn how to receive, prepare, compound, and dispense prescription medications. Students will have access and use of advanced robotic equipment used in high-tech pharmacies. The use of PioneerRX Pharmacy Software will let students learn in a real-world environment and practice with software that is used in most independent pharmacies. The curriculum covers 600 hours of theory and practical training. Mednoc Training College
The pharmacy technician program at Mednoc Training College includes online delivery of some content. The curriculum covers 154 clock hours of instruction to prepare students for entry-level employment and national certification. The coursework will emphasize pharmacology and terminology, abbreviations, drug classifications, prepare and measure medication amounts, inventory management, clerical skills and customer service, establishing and maintaining patient records, package and label prescriptions, legal and ethical responsibility, accepting payments, and receiving prescription requests. Students must pass the written exam and clinical skills, obtain 90% on each chapter exam, write a 5-page clinical paper, and pass the homework and popup quizzes to successfully complete the program. They must pass all clinical and lab skills with a score of 100%. Graduates will be eligible to take the PTCB exam.
